Room 4106's Fabulous Fort!

Over the weekend, my roommies and I wanted some quality bonding time together. So what did we do? We built a fort that filled our entire living room.

This is the view from the window side of the room.

I know what you're thinking right now. "How in the world did you construct such a fabulous piece of architecture? And how can I do the same??" Well, I'll tell you.

Step 1. Turn your couch sideways. Place it on one end of your living room. On the other end, put your dining room chairs on top of your table. Tie them on with scarves so they don't fall with the weight of the blankets.

Step 2. Drag your mattresses off your bed, down the hall, and around the corners. Plop them down where you want your fort to be.

Step 3. Start draping blankets across the room, using the broom, mop, and ironing board for support in the center, and textbooks and hair ties to secure the ends of the fabric.

Step 4. Set up a secret entrance. Crawl inside, and enjoy.

It will be the best night of your life.

Some of you may be thinking, "What is a college student doing building a fort?" I bet you didn't know this, but forts actually increase in awesomeness with age. Because when you are older, you are more talented and you can make your forts bigger, fancier, and better-quality than 4-year-olds with their blankies.

There are lots of things you can do in forts, too. You can play "Truth or Truth", which is like "Truth or Dare", but for girls who are too lazy to actually do stuff and just want to talk. You can tell secrets about boys (especially if you're male). You can pretend to be an animal in a cave. Also, you can play "Hot Lava" (it's really fun to walk on your counters). The best part, however, is the sleepover. You wouldn't think it would be that exciting; I mean, you already sleep with these girls every night. But for some reason, the estrogen rush increases proportionally to how close the mattresses are to the floor.

We went a little bit crazy.
