If you play with fire... Make sure you bring some gasoline

So last night I went to my first bonfire ever. It was HOT.

That's me standing next to the fire. Well, as close as I could get without getting my face melted off.

So for those of you who were like me and have always lived in a fire-regulated area, bonfires are awesome. And HUGE! Before we got the fire started, I was shivering. But as soon as it was crackling and roaring, I was roasting. It was so hot that I had to go jump in the lake. I'm not kidding.

We literally jumped in the lake.

The bonfire I went to was organized by a friend at UVU (since they have fall break today and tomorrow. BYU doesn't have a fall break, so I had class at 8 this morning, but I went anyway.) The bonfire was at Utah Lake and seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. You had to drive down a tiny country dirt road, through fields and horse pastures. But once you got there, it was a party and a half.

We started the fire and threw a bunch of pallets of wood on, and soon the fire was a million degrees. We tried to roast marshmellows and nearly died, like when the servants who tossed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the furnace died just opening the door. So we ate cold s'mores. Not the best, but s'more is better than s'less.

Fire is one of the coolest things ever.
It lit the entire beach.

After trying to roast marshmellows, the best part came. The explosions. This random UVU kid threw a lighter in the fire to get things started. He then went and got a gallon jug of gasoline... Yep. Did you know you can write with fire?
